The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services towards the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency stated it is alarmed in regards to the substantial range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration website Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office dedicated to service the area daily. The assistance level produced for intervention ordeals a high inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it difficult for your office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to empower the servicing of all prospects and enhance entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
